Weather terms

So answer me this. Why do they call them "weather patterns". Patterns. Really. Patterns. So I should expect that after a couple of rainy days there should always be a sunny, huh. Is there some sort of a pattern that even the meterolgists haven't figured out yet. You know they are the most ridiculed profession. That job and referees have a rough time I would assume.

Perhaps it is like a quilt, like my great grandma made for me. You can see the pattern of triangles of material that are quilted together but when you try to figure out the color pattern it varies from block to block.

Perhaps it is like the Violet-Green Swallow that visits San Juan Capistrano every year. They may fly to the same place but do they always land on the same trees? A predictable pattern but yet still unknown.

Perhaps it is like the barnyard cow...lol...dude, I don't know what has gotten in to me. It is all a mystery!
